Hourly dayparting control room for a multi-client PPC manager

A custom dayparting system that enables hourly administration across multiple client accounts — built around rules, guardrails, and auditability (not “random button clicking”).

Highlights

  • Hourly scheduling of ad-ops actions with safety guardrails
  • One-time build replacing expensive third-party tooling
  • Designed for a PPC manager working across multiple client accounts
Hourly dayparting control room for a multi-client PPC manager

The problem

The PPC manager needed hourly control across multiple accounts — not just reporting.

  • Multiple clients → different strategies, different hours, different guardrails
  • Actions had to be consistent and repeatable (not manual “babysitting”)
  • Off-the-shelf tools were either too expensive at scale or too rigid for the workflow

What we built

A control room that turns strategy into scheduled rules:

  • Hourly schedules (time windows, quiet hours, promo windows)
  • Rule templates per client (budgets, bid modifiers, placement rules)
  • Dry-run mode + approvals (optional) before going live
  • Audit log of every action (who/what/when/why)
  • Alerts when rules are skipped (missing signals, throttling, safety caps hit)

Architecture (simple + durable)

  • Scheduler executes hourly rule batches
  • Rules engine resolves conflicts + applies guardrails
  • Integrations execute changes via API
  • Logging + alerting for ops visibility

Outcome

The manager shifted from manual hourly work to:

  • One-time strategy setup
  • Monitoring results
  • Iterating rules — instead of repeating the same actions daily

We’re continuing to extend the system with more guardrails, richer conditions, and additional workflows.
